"The Overxposed plate is by far the most versatile plate I've used. It has a large enough footprint to support a 400mm 2.8 lens - yet is light enough to slide into any camera backpack or rolling case.
There is no longer a debate between having to bring a plate and weighing yourself down too much -weight is not a factor with this extremely light and well-constructed plate.
I find this plate to be extremely versatile because you can mount up to 5 attachments on it - I recently mounted a 400mm 2.8 on the center of the plate on a Wimberley head* during the Republican National Convention and a 70~200mm mounted on a magic arm on one of the sides of the same plate (each with an EOS MarkII body attached) without a hitch during the four nights.
I've also used it at the track & field venue at the Olympics at Athens and found it perfect for mounting either a long lens on the track, or on the grass off to the side with a wide-angle lens."
